KINGSTON, Jamaica; May 19, 2018: Tourism Minister, Hon Bartlett discusses the role of the Global Centre for Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management in monitoring pandemic and epidemics globally with His Excellency, Ban Ki-Moon, Former Secretary General of the United Nations, ahead of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), in Lakai Sandpine, Gangneung, South Korea. They also discussed the substantive role that Ban Ki-Moon would play in the development of the centre.
The discussion was significant as it was Ban Ki-Moon who first implemented the UN Sustainable Development Goals and conceptualised the International Year of Sustainable Tourism.
